I'll overwhelm 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to publicize next month's bout.

Former two time world heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically famous for his showmanship - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would stop the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
